WHO IS BEHIND THE METHOD?
Hi, my name ist Britta Degenkolbe
I am the Founder of HERSPACE, THE GOOD GYM, REFORMER FOR HER and now THE X STRENGTH METHOD.
I am so inspired by the world of movement in all its forms.
By new ideas, evolving concepts, and the countless ways training continues to reinvent itself. I love seeing how movement practices grow, blend and expand — how something new is constantly emerging.
What defines my work is not choosing one approach over another, but connecting the best of what already exists. Observing trends, questioning them, grounding them in science and translating them into systems that are safe, effective and sustainable.
My foundation is a broad and deeply interdisciplinary education. I completed a three-year full-time professional training as a state-certified sports and gymnastics teacher, grounded in sports medicine, training science, pedagogy and movement analysis. This scientific base is complemented by a three-year full-time professional stage dance education, including classical ballet, contemporary dance, jazz and anatomy — shaping my understanding of precision, alignment and movement quality from an early stage.
Over the years, I expanded this foundation through extensive further education: a comprehensive STOTT Pilates Reformer training, an internationally recognized yoga teacher education totaling 980 hours, as well as numerous advanced qualifications in prevention, regeneration, pregnancy training, wellbeing and health promotion. This wide range of disciplines gave me not only technical expertise, but a broad perspective — and the ability to connect systems rather than separate them.
I am the founder of Munich’s first sustainable fitness studio for women, THE GOOD GYM, one of the city’s first Reformer Pilates studios exclusively for women, REFORMER FOR HER, and HERSPACE — a concept that brings cycle-aware training, strength, prevention and regeneration together across multiple locations.
Through my education and my work as a founder, concept developer and still an active trainer, I am confronted every day with the sheer number of training approaches and certifications offered internationally. I see how Pilates has evolved — how it is opening up, blending with strength training, functional training and athletic principles. I find this development exciting.
At the same time, I see how easily clarity can get lost.
THE X STRENGTH METHOD grew from this exact moment of possibility.
Not as a reaction against change — but as an invitation to bring things together.
Why choose between tradition and progress, when we can combine them?
Why separate precision from strength, when they make each other stronger?
The method integrates real Pilates principles as a foundation and expands them through modern training science, strength development and clear structure. Not to turn Pilates into something else — but to let it evolve without losing its essence.
What drives me is a deep desire to give women safety through knowledge.
A clear framework they can rely on, orient themselves within and then use as a base for their own expression.
I believe that when women feel safe in what they know, they take up more space — in movement, in teaching and in the world.
THE X STRENGTH METHOD is my way of making that possible.
I’d love to walk this path together — sharing knowledge, offering guidance, and creating space for your own growth.
with lots of Love for Movement, Science & Developement,
Britta Degenkolbe

HOW TO COMBINE X
The X in THE STRENGTH METHOD stands for cross-disciplinary collaboration — bringing together the most effective elements of different training styles to create clarity, structure, and strength.
It can be applied to whatever you choose to teach.
Currently, the method is used in Classical Pilates, Reformer Pilates, and Barre — with curiosity for what comes next.
